Today January 22nd, Rev. Dr. Hope Luckie will be preaching during both services in place of Pastor Bob who will be away. She is the Director of Clergy Family Services Southwest for the Preacher’s Aid Society. In the article below, she introduces herself. Please join me in welcoming her on the 22nd. I hold a doctorate in ecumenism and interreligious dialogue and a Master of Divinity focusing on spiritual formation and direction. An ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, I have served a variety of creative ministries. With the New England Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, I lead in a variety of ways. I am co-chair of the Open Spirit Task Force, an active member on the Commission of the Status and Role of Women (COSROW), a team member of the Ministry Exploration Summit and a Dismantling Racism and Mentor trainer for the Annual Conference.”

Youth 2023 meeting Sunday January 22
We will have a special meeting today about Youth 2023 after the 2nd service in the Fellowship Hall for all youth in grades 7 – 12 and their parents. Over the last 20 years, many youth and adults have attended this national United Methodist youth conference. We have attended Youth 2003 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, Youth 2007 in Greensboro, NC, Youth 2011 at Perdue University in West Lafayette, IN, Youth 2015 in Orlando, FL and Youth 2019 in Kansas City, MO.
Youth 2023 will be in Daytona Beach, Florida in July. The theme is; Bold, Being ourselves, living different.

Adult Studies
The Sunday morning Adult class’s study is “Called: Hearing and Responding to God’s Voice” by Susan Robb. There is always a seat for you in the Concord Room between the services at 9:45. Come join us to watch a short video and discuss the stories of Jonah, Samuel, Moses, Mary and Esther and John.
The Thursday morning 10 am class continues with “Signs and Wonders: A Beginners Guide to the Miracles of Jesus” by Prof. Amy-Jill Levine. We’d love for you to join us in the Concord Room and on Zoom as we discuss what we can learn together of Jesus’s miraculous works of healing, stilling the storm, walking on water and raising the dead.
Early Bird Bible Study
Early Bird continues the theme, “Living the Christian Life.” This week’s discussion will focus on ‘How we are to Live’. Please read Psalm 119:105 and 1 Thessalonians 5:11-21.
