Pastor John Whitley

Rev. Dr. John B. Whitley has joined Aldersgate UMC as our senior pastor effective July 1, 2025.  Pastor John is the eighth pastor in the 60+ years of Aldersgate.  While in college, he served as a pastoral intern at Cherrydale Baptist Church in Arlington, VA. and as a counselor at Florida Baptist Children’s Home in Tallahassee, FL.  He received his Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School and Doctor of Theology at Harvard Divinity School. He cares deeply about the youth in the church and has been on the Board of Directors at Camp Wanakee in NH since 2017.  Pastor John, his wife Elizabeth, children Will, Leila, and Sybil, and dog Brody now call Chelmsford home.
